Jailing Museum

A wide array of torture devices for the freak inside us all. The buildings, once used as defence posts for the city during the Middle Ages, were renovated in the mid 1600s and began functioning as a prison and site of execution. Here you’ll find everything from original torture equipment to tools for fighting crime! Add to that the gadgetry of criminal master minds, as well as, the machines which finally spelled their demise and you’ve got yourself a bona-fide tourist destination. Permanent exhibitions run the gamut from defence systems of the Middle Ages to the history of crime detection. A fun time for the whole family!

The Jailing Museum is attached to the Amber Museum and you get a 2 4 1 deal here. Only 10 Zloty to get in!!! Thats £2. The Museum is a must see, but as ever bad signs dont let people know just what is in there. Spent nearly 2 hours wandering around. You also get great views from the top of the tower. A MUST see if going to Gdansk.
