Those in search for idiosyncratic cafes in Gdansk need look no further than this enigmatic 'kawiarnia', found on the cobbled stones of Mariacka Street. Despite being on the large size, U Literatow Cafe succeeds in feeling intimate owing to the fact it is comprised of several smaller sections. Soak up the atmosphere on the ground floor where moustachioed fishermen swap tales and challenge one another to games of chess, or head either down or upstairs for a bit more privacy with your 'amor' of the moment. U Literatow oozes Baltic romance.
