Pierogarnia u Dzika

While in Poland, eat like the Poles! Sample over fifteen varieties of hand-made Pierogis bursting with savory filling! Pierogi Ruskie (potato and white cheese) is a staple, but don't leave Gdansk without having a few Pierogi z Dzika (Boars meat) or Babuni (Grandma's recipe!) dumplings! The restaurant also serves more typical entrees, which feature chicken, tasty soups, and of course fresh fish. Located in the heart of the Old Town, its the perfect place to be seated at an outdoor table on a cool summer night. If you're looking for authenticity, which in Poland can only mean delicousness, than look no further.

"7 of us ate here before my partner & I left for the UK next day. The staff were friendly and informative. Between us we ate a selection of their food - all the pieroggis we had were excellent (mushroom; spinach; black pudding) - I had the latter and it was so good I didn't want to finish! Their herring in sour cream was wonderful and my partner had Polish soup served in a bread bowl, which was also very good. Others had fish and boar (excellent). Good selection of wines and for all that food, plus 4 bottles of wine, the bill still only came to £25 max each, including a generous tip because we were so pleased with the evening."

"This was a disapointment. Pierogis was not our kind of thing. The duckbrest was ok, but the vegetables was old, and boiled for to long!"

"What a delight! Visited with our children who loved the soup and the choice of pierogi is outstanding. Well worth a visit when in Gdansk and a refreshing change to the multi-National restuarant chains that serve up the usual tripe! You will NOT be disapointed."

"When I told people I was travelling to Poland, my friends told me to do two things: Polka and eat pierogies. After eating the pierogies here, I don't think I'll have time to Polka...I just want to keep eating. This place is the perfect restaurant...awesome food, good prices, nice atmosphere...just perfect."
