Tawerna Dominikanska

A lot of care has gone into the decor at this striking venue by the Philharmonic Hall - and it really pays off. Doric pillars, striped cushions, bathrooms adorned with ceramic tiles and stained glass, and the odd touch of art nouveau create a space that is both elegant and stylish. The food itself can rightly be considered some of the best in the Tri-City, and vintage Polish fare is served up beside fish that were swimming earlier that morning! An outdoor terrace enables you to make the most of the location by the Motlawa River, and live music performances happen on Mondays on Wednesday.

Tawerna Dominikanska

"The outdoor seating on the river is a fantastic spot for a beer. But the true trump card is Dominikanska's own creation...which I have conveniently forgotten the name of (pajdka?). Anyway, they serve it up outside in summer and if you're walking by you're pretty much obliged to try it. Large fresh slices of grilled rye bread, smeared with smalec (gourmet pig lard), topped with caramelized onions and kielbasa and pickles. Quite possibly the least healthy food creation of all time. Hold it at an angle and watch the oil/grease run off (I'm not kidding). Delicious!"
