Uproar In Parliament

The Polish Sejm (parliament) descended into farce yesterday when the Speaker of the House refused to set in motion a vote on the new budget.

Opposition MPs claim that Mr Jurek, who belongs to the ruling PIS Party, was stalling the vote so that his team could get on with the forthcoming elections.

As shouts swelled in the parliamentary hall, it seemed that the eighteenth century age of anarchy had returned. However, it appears that Mr Jurek's days are numbered - a majority of the house are now calling for his dismissal.
