Grand Hotel Sopot now open!
Sofitel Hotels recently announced the opening of the Grand Hotel in the Polish coastal resort of Sopot, one of the three prongs of the Tri-city along with Gdansk and Gdynia.
The internationally-renowned Sofitel brand already boasts more than 200 hotels worldwide and now has added to its Empire with another five-star hotel on the Baltic coast.
The Grand Hotel in Sopot was in fact a hotel in its previous incarnation, however in its new guise the 126 room guest house has profitted from major restoration work. French architect Frederic Yzermann was put in charge of restoring the art deco splendour of the 1927 building and the general consensus is that 'the garcon done good'.
As well as sophisticated new look the Grand Sopot Hotel is all set to impress guests with its 21st Century amenities such as high-speed internet access, wide-screen TVs and feather bedding. A new restaurant and spa complete the transformation of this hotel into five-star luxury accommodation, with the spa possessing an indoor swimming pool, thermal baths, a sauna, a solarium and private treatment rooms. Time for a bit of pampering we thinks!
For a long time Sopot's hotels have been lacking something of the truly exclusive variety, with only the Haffner standing out above the norm. Now, with the sort of high quality digs such a prominent coastal resort deserves, Sopot can expect to gain further appeal as an A1 holiday destination.
