Kylie Comes To Gdansk

The freedom summit celebrating the fall of communism may have been soured by the sorry plight of Poland's shipyards, but one event is still billed to go ahead in Gdansk.

A major concert, headed by Kylie and Scorpions, is set to take place on 4th June, the 20th anniversary of Poland's first free elections since the war.

The gig will take place at the historic shipyard in Gdansk where Lech Walesa led the 1980 strike that spawned the Solidarity movement.

Sadly, the shipyard has been in desperate straits over the last two decades, and all three yards are being sold after spiralling debts and a decisive EU intervention.
