If the presidential elections were held this month, Warsaw mayor Lech Kaczynski of the opposition Law and Justice Party would be the winner, with 22 percent of the vote.

In the latest poll by the CBOS Institute, he is followed by the heart surgeon-turned-politician Zbigniew Religa, the leftist parliamentary speaker Wlodzimierz Cimoszewicz and the leader of the radical Farmers Self Defence Andrzej Lepper.
