Jean Michel Jarre visited Gdansk in recently as a prelude to a concert planned for later this month. At noon on the 4th of August, the star met Lech Walesa near the so-called Three Crosses Monument, devoted to the dockyard workers who died in December 1970 during strikes. At 1 PM a press conference took place in the room where the August Accords were signed. Finally at 6 pm Jarre met citizens and tourists of Gdansk in front of the Uphagen House in the heart of the Old Town.
Famous for his 1976 hit album Oxygene, Jarre pioneered a new style of outdoor concert and was an important contributer to the entire electronic genre. He will be playing in Gdansk on the 26th of August! |
