Poland Debates Belarussian 'Hotline'

The Polish government is in talks with Lithuania, Latvia and Belarus about establishing a "hotline" task team for coordinating these countries policies towards Belarus. Prime Minister Marek Belka said today that the project aimed at supporting democracy in Belarus.We intend to carry on an active policy not only towards the (Belarussian) state but also the public, Belka said. Belka also criticized Polish financial and procurement laws, which in his opinion hindered the work of national foundations supporting the construction of civic society in other countries.
