This past Monday, Vladimir Chyzhov, Russia's EU representative, stated that the contentious oil pipeline running from Russia to Germany, will have a branch that delivers oil and gas to Poland.
Although seemingly good news, Polands Economic Minister Jacek Piechota hit hard, calling the announcement a political manuever that would not influence Poland's aggressive stance towards the pipeline project.
Poland currently favors the construction of a pipeline that would pass through the Baltic States, rather than the Baltic Sea. Both sides have found 'experts' claiming that the project they support would be cheaper and more efficient. |
