U.S. Invite!
During talks with outgoing Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski, U.S. President George Bush invited Poland's new foreign and defense ministers to Washington. Bush would like to discuss continued Polish involvement in the war in Iraq, as well as other counter terrorism projects.
After discussing 'business,' Bush went on to praise the Polish head of state, saying that Kwasniewski should leave office with his 'head held high' and that he had performed his duty to the Polish people excellently.
Bush also noted Kwasniewski's boldness at forging a friendly relationship between both the United States and the European Union, who have not always seen eye to eye.
Kwasniewski expressed his desire to see 'good, effective cooperation' between the United States and the new Polish government.
